I've just been told I am about to be made redundant where can I find out what I’m entitled to?
Redundancy issues are complex so you should seek help. A professional adviser can explain your rights and look at your financial options. You can also get advice on negotiatingily available with your employer. If you are in a trade union they will have all the advice and guidance you need in your situation readily available for you for free. Likewise some professional bodies offer a similar service to their members.
If you are in neither of the previous two catagories your local Citizens’ Advice Bureau will offer advice and guidance for free.
You can even ask your independent financial advisors or solicitors but both are likely to charge for their services.
Can I reduce my energy bills simply?
Yes by following some simple energy-saving tips, you can reduce your bills and reduce polution as a bonus:
shut outside doors and close curtains at night
boil only the water you need rather than filling the kettle completely
let food cool to room temperature before you put it in the fridge or freezer
don’t leave appliances like televisions in stand-by mode as they still use electricity; instead, switch them off properly at the set’s ‘off’ switch
